Delight and Sadness
"Delight and sadness” would be the two words that seem to sum our
trip to Republic of Moldova from the 1-4th May.
Holding the training workshop in the camp at Larga was really a
great "delight”. I think you would be hard to find a more beautiful
spot for a camp. Surrounded by the forest of oak trees and the sound
of the birds singing away, its a perfectly delightful setting.
We were also delighted with the response to the training. 87 young
leaders attended the workshop. They were really excited and
motivated to serve the Lord in the camp during the 8 weeks in the
summer.
Andrei has really been working hard over the winter months. We were
so delighted to see all that he has managed to do. The eating area
is completely renovated, with new tiles on the walls and the floor.
Its looking just great!
Andrei was also delighted to receive the money which Gean Hodsdon
raised(from her White Water rafting experience in Scotland on her
90th birthday!) This will be used to replace the pump and to buy the
necessary pipes to connect to the camp. Now it is all go to have the
installation complete for the camp opening.
A delightful first for the camp: Daniel, Andrei`s son will graduate
from Chisinau Bible College in June and will be getting married to
Anisoara. The wedding meal will be held in the camp on the 13th
June. Theres a lot to be done because the first children arrive at
camp on the 16th of June. We all are delighted for the new family
especially because both Daniel and Anisoara are children's workers.
Now we come to the sad news Andrei has run out of money to finish
two of the chalets he has been repairing. He has re-roofed the same
but still needs to finish plaster boarding the walls and ceilings
and all this before camp starts in June!
He would need around £5,500 to bring them up to scratch. If they are
not finished on time he will need to reduce the number of children
coming to camp this year. Can you help?
All donations send to our treasurer Andy Holmes.
